Facts About Fading

Home Window Tinting Services in Greater Santa Barbara 2
    • UV Rays – This is the single largest contributor to fading. All of the films that we carry will block 99% of the UV rays. At minimum all of our films stop 40% of the fading.
    • Light – Visible light causes 25% fading. We have window films that come in a wide range of shade options from clear up to blocking out 95% of the visible light.
    • Heat – Heat also accounts for 25% of fading. The amount of heat blocked by window films varies by the properties of the film and how light or dark the films are. Some very light films actually do a great job at reducing the amount of heat coming through the window, and there are some very dark films that can block an incredible amount of heat.
    • Misc – This section would consist of things like room temperature, humidity, interior lighting, maintenance/cleaning and natural deterioration.

All this being said, on average window films can end up blocking between 60% to 70% of the fading. There is no film that will 100% stop fading but we can help you choose the film that will work best for your application.
